CNN.com going 2.0?

I have always been a CNN junkie. TV, Web, and the use of scrolling information or scrall. Although, I still think that Bloomberg is one of the masters of presenting the most information as possible on one screen. So, it was interesting see the “subtle” 2.0 transformation occurring on CNN.com yesterday.

The have made it through the majority of the categories with the exception of CNNfn.com and the sports section which is co-branded with Sports Illustrated. I would be interested in hearing others thoughts about their site re-design and shift of the presentation layer.

Maybe they should create an open source section and let some end users drive for awhile or maybe show ranking of most popular content? It is interesting to watch how traditional media is taking additional steps to embrace 2.0 and the influence of sites like Facebook, MySpace, Flickr, etc.
